Credit is a fact of life for most Americans. Yet, the choices people make on how to use their first credit card, or handle their first loan, can change their life for years to come. That's why it's so critical to educate young people on the use of credit.
This year's Get Smart About Credit Day is October 21, 2010. For more information, visit the ABA Web site.

To maximize Get Smart About Credit's impact this year, consider participating in the National Foundation for Credit Counseling's Protect Your Identity Week (Oct. 17-23). Participating banks can partner with local credit counselors to give joint lessons, host a community shredding event courtesy of Cintas, or direct consumers to the Protect Your Identity Week Web site.
